I installed a system into my ranger a few months ago and it inspired my dad to install one on his 99 mustang GT. He baught it used and it already has an alpine deck installed. But he would like to have the ipod cable. I can not for the life of me get the bezel off or remove the deck. I removed the 2 screws that are under the deck. I'm afraid that i pull it, it will snap. are there screws or snaps or somthin i'm missing?

 

you should have a key that slides down either side of the deck, this will pop it out. if you dont have these keys take 2 long zapstraps and put one down either side of the deck, it should pop out. first you will have to take the face plate off then pop the plastic peice off that surrounds the face plate. and on some older decks you cant add an Auxiliary input cable. what is the model number of the deck? I hope that helps a bit.

 

its ipod ready. I made sure it could before i got started. What are zapstraps? those plastic zip tie things that kinda make a slip knot?

 

ya, this things, but just leave them straight and put them down the sides, get longer ones. hope this works, or if u cant figure it out just go to a local audio shop and ask them to pop the deck for you, they would most likely do it for free. ford did it for free for me on my f150.

 

you may be able to see the back of the radio if you put your head in the passenger footwell and look up into the dash.
