SOOOOO. Went to Lowes to check out some pieces for mounting my amp. I think i am going to fab up a bracket system to mount to the floor of the trunk, that will allow enough room to get the box and spare out, and leave in the carpet. I will then get the pieces welded together. I want to go this rought because it will look real clean, and it will look like the amp isn't mounted to anything.

The only question i have is if you guys think that four self tapping screws into the floor of the trunk will support the weight of a 20 lb amplifier vertically. What do you think?

that depends on how the screws are placed, use your best judgement.
