Default Installing Amp

Hey gang! Started looking into installing my new setup, two 11OV.2's in a sealed box with a NINe.1. I have searched all over my trunk and the boot where the top sets into when down, and no where does that damn NINe.1! SOOOOOO, i settled on mounting it tucked in the corner. Well, I want to tuck it in the corner stood upso it is "flush" to the rear quarter. How do you mount an amp like this? There is nothing for me to really bolt the top to, and if i make a platform of some sort, how do i make it strong enough to keep the weight up? Thanks guys! This is the only part i need help with, after that, i can't wait to hear it and tune it!

that is where the fun begins. Sit and look at it for an hour or so and something will hit ya... There are a number of ways to do what ever you want, more then one way to skin a cat I guess? Locate something near them that isa solid point and figure out what you would need to connect you amp to that point. Can you mount a solid piece of wood to it and secure it somehow? You can also use weldable steel available at most hardware stores and use a vice to make some brackets. Fiberglass is an option if you know how to use it, it is messy if you do not know how to.....

I know i shouldn't think of this, but what about the rear deck, and if i put some rubber grommets inbetween the feet of the amp and he deck to take away some vibration?

can you get access to a super small/low amp mig welder? if so i would get some 14-20ga. steel and tack weld a bracket together, and ultimatly to the inner fender..

and as long as you do not mind standing next to it to hold it up, or a some other way rigged up. You will also need to consider how to run the wires. IT is not too hard to follow the factory wiring but if you have 4 awg power then it will be a little more difficult.

So this is what i am thinking about for mounting it. I think i am going to get the shop teacher here to weld it up for me, but i am going to get some metal tubing or support beams(the flat metal rods that are about .5" wide and 1/8" thick) and creat two triangles and then tie the two triangles together with an x brace. Then bolt that to the floor of the trunk. I am thinking of drilling holes through the floor, sticking the bolts up through, putting a pressure washer then a nut, and then wing nutting the brackets to the floor. How does that sound (if it makes sense at all!! [8D])?

so trunk mounting isn't that bad of an idea? Cause that is a lot easier than what I just wrote. And just put some rubber grommets on the feet?

SO ALL IN ALL..... is there any harm in mounting it to the trunk lid?

I have an amp mounted upside down on the rear shelf of my wifes bimmer. Just make sure you have plenty of cooling space and add a fan if it starts feeling hot. The heat sinks on amps are not designed for use upside down. They use natural convection and heat rises, so make sure you have plenty of air flow!
