2003 Mach 460 Question
i wanna be able to use my ipod with mach 460 and do it relatively cheap. that means i dont wanna replace the speakers and amps.would i be better just replacin the head unit (if there is a plugin harness available) and buying an ipod interface from somebody (if there is one avaiable)?
Cheap- Fm transmitter
OK- Interface module to connect to factory headunit
Best- New deck capable of direct connect iPod, and the iPod adaptor with it. Company that has the cheapest iPod interface is Eclipse, can be found from authorized dealers for $40. Going this route you will maintain all of your controls (some of the other methods for example, you cant browse by album or artist, just by playlists etc.) Also you control everything through the headunit, instead of juggling the iPod and changing volume on your deck etc. and you can hide the iPod alot of people will run the wire to the glovebox so all you have to do when you get in your car is plug it in and go.

the mach 460 is probably the easiest of all the "premium" systems that I have worked with. Most shops will have a knee-jerk reaction to them and recommend ripping them out completly. It is not hard to integrate into them and with some tweeking they can sound much better then the factory radio did. page 2 of my sig.
yeah man, i read it and printed it out so i'll have it with me when i do the install. i bought a a Kenwood Double-Din DVD Receiver/Monitor from my buddy for $150 plus installin his new system for him. he just bought a Pioneer AVIC-72...damn thing cost him over $2000....
