you've got an 03 right? i just got done installin mine (i've got any 03 also)w/ some help from VTX, ttocs, and a local audio shop. i also used the metra 70-1771 harness so that i didnt have to cut in the factory wiring. we've got 3 plugs in the back of our radios. the one in the middle wont be re-used. its for the cd changer. so i left mine hanging there. i'll try and get some pics up tomorrow or tuesday to show ya'll what it ended up like. and yeah i had to use a line driver too. it sounded horrible at first without one.

 

yep im 03 and got 3 plugs also, im going in the morning to buy that metra harness, can i get a line driver @ best buy? and yeah man pics would be sweeet ... what HU did you go to?

 

i dunno if you get a line driver from best buy. i DO know that there are 2best buys where i live and NEITHER of them carried the metra 70-1771 harness. thats why i hit up a buddy of mine at the local audio shop. he told me its a specialty harnessand thats why they didnt have it. he also told mei'd probably need a line driver too so i went ahead and bought it. i got an a year old Kenwood double-din DVD receiver/monitor. i'll try to get pics up inday or too. its hard to do a lot with 50 hours of work and 19 credit hours of college...[&:]

i got the correct harness, i decided to check this before i did final wiring, and i wanna see whateveryone thinks i should do ...

1.in the jensen/factory harness where should i hook up the power antenna and the amp turn on coming from the jensen harness, the factory harness i havedoes not have any blue wires, the wires not being used are the illumination wires that are orange and then orange/black, should i wire the PA and ATO wires to the other harness i have with the rcas and 2 blues and 2 blacks?

2.as far as the factory harness, can i ground the 'amp ground' black/white wire to the solid black ground wire? and also do i add these with the ground wires for the rca harness?


sorry if i have confused you, thats how i would do it, i just wanna double check!

sorry man, i'll get pics up tomorrow probably... but to answer your questions. ignore the orange and orange/black. and ignore the power antenna, we simply dont have one. the blue and blue/black from the other harness BOTH go to the jensen amp turn on. we have two ams, thus two amp turn os, so they go together. and just ignore the amp ground cables. everything you ignore should be taped around the ends so to avoid contacts. the rcas need to go to the rca RR and RL on the jensen unit, because those are your stock woofers. i actually ended up returning my line driver because my headunit allowed me to tweak everything on it. but if you do need one, check out memphis.

well guys i got it installed and everything, i edited the setting it has for audio, it sounds hella loud now on like volume level 8 lol but its all good, even got the bypass code for the dvd. thanks to everyone, next mod will be swapping out all of the door speakers, i got a 501 series rockford in the stang hitting 1 12" kicker comp vr, so i thought about maybe getting like 201 for some door speakers, maybe going rockford, anyone got any suggestions?
