Help me with my setup please.
Ive got an 88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe Im working on putting a half decent combination into. I already have Infinity 5010cs components for the front, Infinity Reference 5012i speakers for the rear, and a Sony CDX-GT520 head unit. None of which is installed at the moment.
I want to power these off of an amp of course, but Im unsure of what would suit the speakers and the entire setup. I generally like music crisp, and rather clear.
Next step is subs. Id love a dual 10" setup, but I have no idea where to start. The real reason I want subs is for the drums in most metal I listen to, and the little bit of rap I like. Id want a nice, tight hit, thats very responsive. Not too concerned with thumping up and down the street, but would like a little something.
Any suggestions? Products? Recipe?

I think a well thought out single 10", like the http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...ct_ID=1841from alphasonik would be nice. I had a pair of these, and only used 1 when listening to slayer and stuff like that. I also had midranges from imagedynamics and tweets from Helix.
as for an amp, as long as you choose one with your speaker requirements, mosfet or alike you'll be good. I went with 2 Titans and 1 Helix Espirit. I reccommend a Helix only if you know exactly how to operate and install like a pro. It is a very touch amp!

Ok Tbird.
Disregard the post above mine.
What's your budget?
How much room are you willing to sacrifice for the box?
If you can sell those inifnities and go listen to some lesser known, but cheaper comp sets.
I'm not sure what has you decided on two 10"s but I personally think you might sould sway from that idea and invest in maybe one 12" for now.

Hiss. Im not really too sure on budget, I was thinking maybe ~100 per driver, and ~250 on the amp. Less would be prefered, but that would probably be my max for a little while.
Trunk space, and the reason for wanting 10" subs go hand in hand. These cars have a "shelf" in the trunk, under the rear deck. I had a pre-fab box with a pair of 10's in it a while back, which was all pure junk, but it fit very well. Maybe sometime in the next few days, Ill take some pictures of the box and get dimensions, so you know what Im trying to stay close to.
I had a single 12" Kicker Comp in my other Tbird for a while, and while it sounded great, the hardest part was placing it. The only real area I could put it was right in the center of the trunk, which was very inconvinient.
You have any suggestions on some lesser known brands to look into?

^If you are in a lesser price budget, then a Hifonics amp is in order. Elemental Designs have pleased me, from an installers viewpoint, and are crazy cheap for their performance.
