Help build my new system...
Alright I'm in a bad mood (broke up w/ the loooong time gf) so to make myself feel better, I want to buy some goodies. Figuring that I like working on the interior during the winter since it's too cold to do anything else is a plus.
Anyway, this is what I want... I just need help choosing the best parts.
The Mach460 is being ripped out and I want it replaced with:
An indash dvd/navigation unit. I'm hoping I can use the navigation WITHOUT a cd. Touchscreen would be nice. Ipod compatible. It would also be nice if I don't have to lose the whole in dash 6 cd capacity (not sure if that's possible). Finally, MAYBE a reverse camera option might be nice.
SO FAR THE BEST I'VE BEEN ADVISED TO BUY IS THE ECLIPSE AVN 6610. Butthe navigationIS DVD driven.
4 speakers I guess 3 or 4 way. Not sure what I need???
subs I used to have 12's in my old stang but I think 10s might fit better. I'll be building a custom box myself. I'll be dumping the spare tire since it won't fit so I could do some fiberglass work in that space but I don't think I want to go that route.
SO FAR THE BEST I'VE BEEN ADVISED TO BUY IS : JL 3V3. Only problem that I am seeing is that it s only 300w rms. I want to make sure this is A LOT better than the MACH 1000.
amps I haven't touched a stereo system in 3 years, so I forget what I need. I'll probably be running a dual setup. 1 for the amps and 1 for the subs.
AND what do I do with the 460 tweeters?? If I remove them, won't it look bad... I have no idea what it looks like behind there.
I know I need wires,fusebox and dynamat.
Thanks in advance for all the help and really not in a huge rush but I do want to start buying the parts so the price does not seem too crazy all at once.

THe pionner in dash units are nice, but Eclipse is the brand to get. The AVN-5500 can be had for around $1000 and is a very nice unit. The AVN-6610 is an even better unit. That is a great piece of equipment.
On to speakers, you do not NEED 4 speakers. What you really need is a good component set for the front of the car and if you really want it to sound like you have turned around backwards at a concert get some midrange rear fill. Components can be purchased for as little as $99, but the more you spend the better the equipment you will get!
Your amps are 100% dependant on what speakers and subs you buy.
Before we help you there are a couple critical peices of equipment we must know.
What type of music do you listen to?
What is your budget?
Do you prefer loudness, sound quality, or somewhere inbetween?
JL subs are good pieces of equipment, but your money can go much further. Brands like elemental designs, fi car audio, acsendent audio, and a couple others come to mind. JL is nice, but your money can go much further.

i just installed my eD subs last week and my two tens are RIDICULOUS. I love them. They are so clean it is unreal. Best $300 i have spent. I also have their mono amp and it is stone cold, no issues, warranty for 5 years, clean classy look, it is awesome. Definitely give them a look.
There are so many audio companies out there WAY better than almost anything at CC or BB. Take your time in the choices and buy what you want. My roommate bought some RF subs and an earthquake amp, and he is really disappointed now after hearing mine.
