Under Drive Pulley & Stereo
I've got an 06 Mustang GT and am thinking about installing an udp kit, but am worried about how it or my stereo will affect it. I've got 2 amps (4ch for speakers, bridged for subs) and 2 subs (12's), then the 4speakers inside the car, and an aftermarket headunit,i am worried about the loss of power that the udp causes and how it would affect my setup.
Will i have issues? Do i need to do something to advoid this? Or am i just being parinoid?
Thanks!

it would help to be more complete as to what kind of amps, how they are wired, ect......
Most people I find just do not read the directions that come with them and state to bump the idle up 1-200 rpm to comensate for when the vehicle is not moving. I have UDP, and I am getting ready to slap 2 amps with 125 amp fuses in each of them, but I am planning on getting a high output alt as these are LARGE amps...

ahh, well my amps are not extremely high, in fact probably mid to low as far as output goes. Alpine 4 channel amp has 75w per channel. The sub amp is a rockford fosgate 400w (bridged) amp. Does this help or you need more information?
oh dear god what are you talking about............................
Add a cap? are you serious? Relocate and add a 2nd battery? If you have a choice between giving no advise or giving bad advise, you will give bad advise? Please read the forum sticky.

You should be fine, if all else fails add a capasitor or do it right and relolacte the battery to the truck and add a second battery

You can get a better idea of what kind of current the amp expects to draw by checking out the fuse rating on the side of the amp but you should be fine. The only time you have problems with an underdrive pulley system is when the car is at idle, bump the idle up a little and you will be fine.

Bump up the idle are you serious? How in the hell is a cap or 2nd battery a BAD idea??? You are getting just plain retarded thinking you own this section don't you??? A cap is not the best but WILL help, its been proven, thats why stinger, rockford, monster, etc sell millions of them. 2 batteries located in the trunk is the best thing for HUGE systems, you should know that if you are half the installer you claim to be. So you're trying to tell me that you've built a 2500-5000watt system with ONE battery and NO cap??? wow, thats all, just wow. I'm not even running 1000watts and i'm doing 2 batteries in the trunk, more storage = less work for the alternator to do............
your not as smart as you look, and after your last few posts you are not even lookin that smart....... Again most of the people here know me to be a level headed person that shy's away from confrontation but when a guy keeps spouting off bad advise(as well as tellin me he can school me!) then he will get a little extra attention. I do not consider it "MY" area as I do not have mod priviliges on this site as I do on others. I would certainly delete you off MY site for giving bad advise, again.....
Ok now pay attention doopey, I think I am done smackin you around so you can learn something today, consider it me schooling you(ok, now I am done).
A cap is nothing more then a band aid for a larger problem. It will cover it up and may even help for a short time but in the long run it does not FIX anything. They do sell millions of caps every year, but then they also sell millions of those "Male enhancing pills" as well, they will not help your problem either. Caps were originallyhailed by the masses but inrecent yearsthat idea has been reversed(It should be added to the master MECP test any day!)Adding a 2nd battery to a factory alternator is probably the worst thing you can do to damage an alternator as it makes it work harder, not easier doopey........ Money would be better spent first on getting a battery with a larger CCA rating as well as upgrading the big 3 factory power wires(10 awg is stock), and then if you wanted to add a better alternator and THEN add a 2nd battery(properly isolated of course) man you would be golden but slappin a 2nd battery on a stock alternator is S T U P I D.....

The bottom reads "If you can't put it on correctly should you be showing it off?"
Been waitin to use this.... Your 2nd battery is a perfect example if you have not upgraded your alternator.
