Hey Guys,

I have an 02 GT Coupe with a Mach 460 & 6 CD changer. My nephew gave me a Eclipes AVN2454 (new in 04) with the GPS, DVD, MP3 and 50W/channel. It was still in the box and bench tests good. Other that the extra bells and whistles, the audiolooks to be the same as other after market stereos. I would like to install it but I'm not sure if it's compatable with the rest of the Mach Audio system. I downloaded the Mach wiring diagrams (Suppose to be Ford) from Alldata.In the description of the system it says that the Coupe has 1 amplifier were as the Convertible has 2. The confusing part is that the wiring diagrams shows 2 amps (front & rear) for both the coupe and convertible. Does anyone know if an after market Stereo head will work with the existing Mach 460 wiring and speakers? An installer at a large retail store says that everything must go. I don't know if that's true or he just wants meto spend extra money. I'm sure that he can make it sound better but for right now I'll behappy with the Mach speakers system if it will work. ignor the installers at most big box shops. They do what is dictated to them by their corporate office which is driven by bean counters..........

The 460 is one of the easiest "premium" systems that I know of and you can really make it sound much better if you have the patients to tweek it a little bit.

Page 2 of my cardomain page shows how I did it in my 94. You have the same equipment but a little different wiring, no worries though we can get ya through it. If you want then it is always great to go show it to the big box installer that says it can't be done.
