No power to Amp
Whatsup fellas, my friend and i jus recently put in a single 12"alpine sub and amp to my 05 stang. I kept the stock HU which has the shaker 500 system in it. Now we ran all the wires and got the line out converter but for some reason the amp isnt turnin on. Could it possibly bebecause since there already is anamp from the stock HU..it wont send a signal outto the amp for my sub?
if you connected it to the stock remote turn on then you have your problem. The stock remote is a 6v while your amp is looking for a +12v to turn it on. Find a +12v switched wire and you will be fine. You can test to see if your remote turn on is bad by disconnecting the wire that you have it connectied to, and then taking a jumper piece of wire and touching your +12v constant at the amp to the remote turn on. IF you have power at the constant your amp will turn on. Do not leave it this way or you will kill your batt since the amp will never turn off(until the batt dies), this is only to test....
