i have a van which i am using for a sound system but i cant seem to find the fire wall on it. its a chevrolet lumina apv

Generally it separates the engine compartment from the interior of the car.

If you are looking for a place to run wires in the firewall, I am of no help.

i did find a small hole by the gas pedal but its not large enough I'm running 4 gauge wire

what i mean is i cant seem to find a proper hole in the firewall to run wire.

I am willin to bet there is not much room to run wires through the existing grommets and very little room to drill a new hole. More then likely you will need to make a new hole. Make sure to check both sides to be sure where you are drillin and if you are not sure then start with a small hole to see where it is commin out at.......
