Needs the room for gauges.

Clock, outside temp, compass. All the important stuff can take up some of that DDIN space.

You do realize thats a hole where heat and a/c generally flows through. You going to do anything about sealing it off?
Na, I just like to use that space to keep a nice pic posted up of yo momma!!! Need that much space cuz HE [:-](OOOOOOHHHHH) is a huge Bitch!! [sm=happybounce.gif]

No, I don't really care about using the space for the Unit. Went to a Excelon Nav system and I would hate to keep hittin it with my hands everytime I shift. Plus it would be nice to keep the eyes up close to the road while I can nav or change channels or whatever....that's all.

I was thinking more of making a fiberglass piece then cutting the hole out with a scroll or air grinder. Then I could paint it or cover it with whatever to match the rest of the dash... That's what that guy had to have done.

Thanks for the chuckles anyhow, I too like to F around,

And yes, of course I realize that it where most of the ventilation comes from. And yes, I'd be one to seal it off and have the other side registers rocking out.
