Your cd player should have a cage, with that you press the tabs out and it should fit in there fine.

Unfortunately it doesn't have a cage. Is there anywhere I can order a universal one, or one for my specific model? I don't even see how a cage would fit in the empty space because there is nothing on either side or the bottom of where the stock radio would be. There is only a rail at the top where a plastic bracket on the stock stereo slid on to. Is there a provision for this on these cages?

you will need the cage to mount it, and the trim ring to make it look good and cover those gaps. Find a local shop that carry's what ever brand deck you have and go to them. Some cares require them(like ours!) and others use the factory brackets rather then cage. It is customary to give the cage and trim ring back(in most shops) when they are not used but EVERY shop will have a collection of these that they either forgot to giveback or kept for one reason or another(installers are HUGE packrats). Go in there with your deck and you might have to throw them $5 or $10 if they fell like it but you can get it.

also there is no universal cage. Any deck will fit into almost any cage but then they will not lock in place.

Oh, I see. Thanks a million. You guys here have been a great help. I guess I'll be going out this weekend to pick that up. There's about 3 audio shops near me, so hopefully someone will have a cage and trim. I can't wait to get this installed. Driving around a without music is killing me lol.
