Default Battery Saver?

I was on Autozone looking for a replacement Battery, and I ran into this:

Link

What is this?
I googled 'Battery Saver Relay' and it came up with a bunch of stuff on how after your battery reaches X amount of charge with out the car being on, the relay switches on and stops the flow so your battery doesn't die.
But, this doesn't seem like it'd do that? Any idea on what it does do? Thanks in advanced.

if you were looking for a battery and found a timing chain cover then you were in the wrong isle

By disconnecting the vehicle from the battery you will have a little longer life out of it. There is a minimal current drian on a battery to keep the memory in your radio for example. If you were going to store it for a long time(months) then I would recommend a slow trickle charger but they are normally less then $20.

I was actually online when I found it.

But what does it do?
'cause, I'd like a fail-safe incase I leave my lights on or something so the battery doesn't die and I'm f***ked.

it plugs into the wall an then provides a trickle charge to keep the battery up. If you were to leave your lights on I do not know that it would provide that much current to drive the lights although it would probably make it easier to plug the charger in.

again these are made for when you are going to store the car for months, not over night.

Err... that's a different product than before.

http://www.autozone.com/R,APP757982/...ductDetail.htm

Let's hope that link works?

Anyway, it doesn't really look like it plgus into the wall. I don't know where it plugs into. But, if it's just for cars sitting for a long time, then nevermind. Thanks for the help.

I have not clue what that is. It looks like the large gauge termianal that tow trucks haveon thefront of their trucks to easily connectjumper cables to jump other cars.

Now just curious does your say GP by SORENSEN across you pic as well?
