Default Door speaker wire

Ok, this might be a dumb question but one the door speaker wires, which wire is the +, the one with the white stripe or the one with the green stripe? I just tried to put some fosgate power 6x8's in and the driver side cuts out at louder volumesand a friend of mine says that I could have crossed the wires and now the speaker polarity is reversed.

yes.

I do not know of anyone on here that can tell you which wire is posative. Depending on what stereo you have in the car.

More then likely, you had a mach system and blew out a woofer right? The mach woofers are 8 ohms, you replacement speaker is probably 4 ohms(95% are) causing the factory amp to cut out from being over driven.

Give a list of everything that is in the car now as well as what stereo the car had stock.

My head unit isa JVC kw-avx 800 which is a double din cd/dvd player. My door speakers which are the problem children are the rosford fosgate power series, the rest of my system is the stock mach 460. I just put the door speakers in so i dont think the head unit has anything to do with which speaker wire is + or - cause I didn't change any of the wiring. When I put the head unit in with stock speakers it worked fine. So would I have to get a new amp for these speakers to work.

ok then it is what I expected. The stock woofers are an 8 ohm speaker so your new 4 ohm speaker is driving the heck out of the factory amps. Another amp will make them sound better but you can also bypass the factory amp and run the new speakers off of the deck and they will sound fine.

What year stang?

Page 2 of my cardomain page shows how I wired my alpine into the mach. It does not have to be that hard, I just tweeked it for a while till it sounded good, then ripped it all out......

My car is an 03. So probably the best thing to do is to get a new amp or 2 of them.

What I am having trouble understanding is why is my driver side door speaker the only one cutting out if the speakers are kicking the amps ***? Why isn' the passenger side door doing the same?

that idunno.... you could have the speakers wired backwards and the amp will play all day though. Speaker polarity does not effect an amp.
