Ok I re wired the speakers and the speakers played the same and they still cut out at loud volumes. Well I was lookin around at the options on my cd player and came across a high pass filter which was on the option 'through'. The only other option was to choose 'on' which I did. The speakers will now play loud and clear but I don't have as much bass. So I got them workin and obviously to get the sound I want I'm gonna need a sub. Goin back to where I bought them and get their advise.

this is the 3rd and last time I will tell you the problem. I will cut and paste it for you to re-read. If you ignore it this time then i give up..

ok then it is what I expected. The stock woofers are an 8 ohm speaker so your new 4 ohm speaker is driving the heck out of the factory amps. Another amp will make them sound better but you can also bypass the factory amp and run the new speakers off of the deck and they will sound fine.

Page 2 of my cardomain page shows how I wired my alpine into the mach. It does not have to be that hard, I just tweeked it for a while till it sounded good, then ripped it all out......

if I need to give you a list of what to do then fine.

1.) Go but a integration hrns fora ford, 70-1770. Wire your decks speaker outputs into that hrns(white to white, grn to grn ect).
2.) Disconnect the bypasshrns that I point to on page 2 of my cardomain page and plug in the hrns you wired.
3.) Wire your componants input from the factory tweeter wires in the door and you will be done.
4.) Keep your deck x-over on through.

no worry's, I get annoyed when people ask for my advise, and then ignore it and it seems we have had alot of those lately which has left my fuse a little short. The bypass hrns is no more then the normal hrns($10-20 depending) and I would start at walmart to be honest. They recently picked up scosche and been killing people on prices. I would first pull the deck/dash to confirm that it is the same hrns(ford 70-1770) as mine to be sure.

When I ordered the cd player it came with the Metra 70-5519 so I think it is different. Since I don't really know wut I'm talkin about I'll have the guy that helped me put the cd player in look at this thread so we can get this thing moving.

thats cool, I understand this is new to you and will try to remain patient and walk you guys through it if you will listen to me. it really is not that bad.

The bypass hrns is easy to confirm you have found. All you have to do is power the radio with the dash off and then disconnect the hrns and your tweeters will cut out. By disconnecting the hrns you actually unplug the speakers from the amps output. THat hrns is your speaker wires for the tweeters, right next to the deck.
