Default Need some advice please.

I am one of those kind of people that don't like to mix and match, so thats gonna be my reasoning for choosing these. I would like to stick with Pioneer as I have a pioneer avic z2 or I'm being stupid and can get a better setup for less, just let me know as I'm an audio nub. Currently I have a pyle 1400 2 channel amp as a temp. I am really just looking at a system that has more bass without space consuming subs in the trunk.

If I am correct, there are 4 subs and 4 tweeters in my mach 460 setup, 2 tweeters on the door, 2 subs on the door, and 2 tweeters/subs on the rear deck.

Just from looking at crutchfield this is kinda what I'm thinking.
2 sets of these since they come with 2 tweeters and subs

I am uncertain as to what kind of amp to go with, if the amp I have is sufficient let me know, here is a link to the amp I have.
http://www.overstock.com/Electronics...9/product.html

I found it for 75 shipped and I needed an aftermarket amp to get the bass back, but I am very unhappy with the way it sounds at the moment and I'm unable to find a way to adjust the system to make it sound better.

Thanks in advance, and with that, I throw myself at the mercy of the audiophiles.. lols

IMO,that amp is gonna be way to much for those 6 1/2's they say there max rms is 250 max 1400 watts is gonna be to much,ur amp is also only for 2 channels u should get a 4 channel amp 1 channel for each speaker,Pioneer has decent amps for very resonable price's plus the system componets would mostly match then,id get like a 1000 watt 4 ch for the 6 1/2s for ur fronts and rears, also a external eq comes in handy when fine tuning a system, hope this helps good luck

That amp isnt 700watts rms, probably 700w peak. The rms is most likely lower than 250w rms at two channels.

Ever heard of the phrase "it doesn't do rated". That is a pyle, aka the short name for pyle of ****.

I doubt that amp is putting out 700wrmsx2.

However i have a much better alternative, and you only need 1 amp. Seeing has how you want to stay pioneer and all.

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...eries/GM-6300F

http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-GM-6300F...QQcmdZViewItemCheapest one that was BNIB on ebay, and there cheap.

Now i have no knowledge on the mach series of sound systems in older mustangs, but the way your referring to it your saying subs but your link goes to a picture of a comp set (which consists of a midbass and a tweeter), midbass =/= sub. Now, i can't tell you what's in your doors or whatnot, but my guess is it's setup like the new stangs sort of. I know my 08 with a shaker 500 has a 8" door sub, along with a midbass and tweeter mabye, it could be coax i'm not sure.

I want to say the mach systems also included door subs. Also are you sure the mach system uses 6.5" speakers? If it does use 6.5" speakers and doesn't havea spot for a dedicated tweeter, you may want to look into a nice pair of coax speakers unless you wish to fabricate some panel to mount the tweeter.

However if it uses other size speakers like large(r) typed ones like 6x9, 5x7, etc. Then you could simply get a 6.5" comp set and put a piece of wood there that is the size of the opening, for example if it is a 6x9 cut a piece of wood the shape of a 6x9 speaker, mount the midbass and tweeter to it then it would fit right in there just like a 6x9 speaker would. Not sure if i explained this well enough.

Now with the amp i posted above i would get some good 6.5" comp speakers for the front and i believe the back utilizes 6x9's. That amp would be perfect to run a pair of speakers in the back and a pair in the front.Only amp you would need for your actual speakers. Also it's pretty cheap, and keeps with the pioneer theme you wish to have (i'm pioneer fan as well, and will prob run everything pioneer in my car as well).

Give me a minute and i'll look for some better pioneer speakers for you as well.

The speakers in the door are considered a woofer although they are a little small to reproduce low end signals. They are a 5 x7 woofer but you can easily fit a 6.5" if you have a jigsaw or router and some 1/2" mdf.

Pioneer makes good decks, descent amps and ok speakers. pyle is not the best and not the worst. There wasa brief section in their early history where they were half-way descent but that time was short lived. You are going to be limiting yourself to medeocre(sp?) equipment if you are dedicated to these brands.

What do you want from the system? How long do you think you will have the car? How much time and money do you want to invest and what kind of music do you like?

I'll be keeping the car until it no longer wants me. I don't really wanna spend more than 300-400 on a new system because I'm not all that into audio as I am into performance. I do not want to get a set of subs in the trunk cause I don't really want the extra weight. I am open to suggestions, I just really want something that is nice and has a decent bass. Not really into that whole show winning thing and whatnot.
