Infinity KAPPA 682.7CF tweeter setting, +3 or flat
I'm planning on installing 4 Infinity KAPPA 682.7CFs into my 07 Mustang and I was wondering what everyone else has set their tweeter to +3 or flat? I'd like to get it set up right so I don't have to rip everything apart again. I have a stock stereo. Thanks!
not sure with a stock stereo, but i had the same speakers , aftermarket stereo and amplified (they run 2 ohm, 90 wts rms), even flat they were still ear piercing. changed them out to jl comp's. hope they work out better for you.
Logicbombx,
I am new to the Mustang forum, but not to car Audio and actually work for a highly respected car audio company.. I can tell you that Hot wheels is right about the Kappa's being very bright (or earpeircing)
They are a good speaker set for the money though, it all depends on what you are looking for.. Lots of highs, mid range or a little bit of both. You might look at going to a 3 way speaker if you want more all around sound as it isolates the sound frequencies and sends them to specific parts of the speaker to reproduce the sound better.

I could not imagine why infinity would want to put a +3db gain on their tweeters unless they want the person to go deaf, instead of just making his ears bleed.
So kale64, tell us a little about yourself? There are a couple of working pros on here, the more the merrier.

ttocs,
Saw your stang on car domain, really nice work, and good instruction too.
I work for Scosche Industries, and am a consultant for them for a large retailer in the nation. I saw that the harnesses you had on your page were from Metra, but I won't hold that against you.
Currently I have a 64.5 convertible that I am doing a frame off on, and hope to have a 07 gt soon to turn into a beast...
Done quite a few systems in my day, but also know that there is always a wealth of knowledge to gain too... And that is why I found and like this forum so much.
