Default 97 GT Mach 460 audio problem

I have stock speakers and an aftermarket deck Kenwood KDC-MP8017. I have popping in the speakers, my bass is gone, there is a wining and other feedback noises coming from the speakers. I have to turn the volumn up really high to try to cover up the wining and feedback. Not sure where to start. Most of the audio place around me in Title Town will charge me 60 bucks just to look at it. So i would like to figure it out and either fix it my self or take it somewhere and tell them what needs to be fixed. Let me know what you all think.

when does the popping happen? just at startup or while playing music? did you check your fuses for the amps?

pest007-When i am playing music. The wining will only stop if i turn the radio/cd player off. I will check the fuse, i hadnt cause some times it works and other times it does.

ttoc- Im not sure it was installed before i got the car. i just took out the stock cd player and added the insert thing that holds like 3-4cds
