Default problems with system again

i finally got the subs to work but of course got a minor problem, or maybe not. does any one elses system pull off some power even when the car is off. like if i take the power cord and just touch the battery the wire sparks. is there a way to fix this. like a relay or something? thanks.

the 12V line to the battery will always have juice, its the remote turn-on wire that turns the amp on.

why would you be touching the wire to the post.. it should be bolted on there and not taken off with a fuse in the line..? i dont get it

bizarre, had a bizarr question, I know, I know corny, but I am tired and just felt like posting something. But like everyone else said yes it should do that since it is your POWER wire, so i think this thread is over with.

thats very normal. you should always disconnect the ground terminal off of the battery when working on anything eletctrical!
you have no problems with the system.. sparks are sometimes a good sign. hope it helps, any more questions just ask

Yes it is normal. The spark you see is the circuit being completed when you touch the wire to the post. No power is being used though as long as the system is off. You could take the power wire from the headlights and disconnect it and then touch it to the battery terminal without the headlights being on and it too would spark.
