Default Need Audio Input/Suggestion/Help

Hey guys, I'm wanting to get a light weight subwoofer that wont take up too much space in the trunk. I am looking for a setup similar to the mach1000 sub or the shaker sub that goes in the corner of the trunk. I will be shoving this in on the driver side as the passenger side will house the battery relocation box I'll be fabbing up soon.

I am just looking for something that will deepen my bass a bit. Here is the setup I will be buying for the other speakers in the car.

I think I'll be going with the Hifonics CRUNCH P900.4 for the amp. 4 chan 115w nom
And I'm also looking into buying 2 Hifonics ZXi6.5c comp set for the rear deck tweet/speaker and door tweet/speaker.

I really only want to spend about 300-400 tops for everything. I am actually semi happy with the stock speakers but I want a bit deeper bass and a set of cleaner/crisper tweets. I'll most likely cut a piece of wood to house the 6.5 in the 5x7 spaces or find some good adapter plates.

Any input is welcomed as I'm a very big audio nub.

Here is the specs for the speakers:

* SPECIFICATIONS

o Nominal Power : 2 - 100W
o Impedance : 4 ohm
o Frequency Response : 60Hz - 30kHz

I personally wouldn't be looking at any of that equipment with the exception of maybe the amp.

What is your budget?

What type of music do you listen to?

Do you already have an aftermarket HU?

Budget: 400-500 (would like to keep it under 400)
Hu: Pioneer Avic Z1 (with a 10 gig z2 hd)
I'm really not looking for anything too fancy I'd just like a cleaner sound coming out of my stereo. I'd also like to get a sub that fits in the driver's side corner of the trunk(I don't want to take up too much trunk space).

For $400....

Comps - http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=4596$170

Comp Amp - http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/2839$55

Sub - http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...roducts_id=106$70 (If you need really really small)
http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...products_id=30$90 (Can be placed insmall box but you need more depth)

Sub Amp - http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/2840$70

A wal mart wiring kit for $20 would also be just fine.

That totals out to less then $400 without box construction supplies, but that will only cost you $20.

Thanks for the reply, that sounds pretty good, only question I have is that a lot of people I talk to tell me not to go with a profile amp. I really like their prices but it seems like they might be comparable to the crap amp I have right now? (pyle amp)

Profile amps do their rated power. They are perfect for anyone on a budget, they work just fine.

If I was, or when I do budget systems, the only amps I consider are Profile and TMA (Total Mobile Audio) But it's hard to find Total on the net anymore, Sonic had them for a while but they stopped carrying them.

Profile might be cheap but by no means are thier amps garbage. I have purchased two for budget installs for myself and installed them in numberous other cars. The one time I did have a problem I was repaired under warranty by only paying shipping charge and spoke to a very nice customer service rep that was actually in the us or spoke very clear english. All I did was send it to california.

I have had more problems with hifonics amps then I have with profile. I actually had a hifonics catch on fire while installing it. Beleive it or not, the amp had an internal short and as soon as it was connected to 12V + and - it built up a ton of heat and was smoking.

So far I am 1/5 on profile with problems and 1/4 on hifonics.
