bass blockers
it is good to do if you have replaced the deck. Bass blockers are a fancy name for capacitors. When they are inserted in series with the speaker wires they will block the bass. To put them in series, you will cut on speaker wire and insert the cap, one side to one wire and one side to the other.
Yes your factory 460 has a crossover built into the amplifiers. Adding bass blockers to just your 460 tweeters will do minimal. A far more effective and better in the long run addition would be buying an aftermarket headunit. If you have about $250-$300 you can get a great unit that has crossovers built into it (or sometimes called HPF and LPF's), along with an eq, just a few things that will give you the ability to mold the sound to the way you like it. Adding simply a decent headunit to the already existent 460 makes a huge difference. I dropped my CD7000 into my stang and anytime someone sat in my car, they go your car sounds good, but it's not too loud, what kind of 10" subwoofer do you have? Never had one in at that point.
Good headunit is where to start if you want a fast and simple increase in SQ and even bass. And anything you upgrade after that sounds even better. Many people just think adding a sub makes everything better.
