Im looking to upgrade my factory speakers with some woofers....do I need an amp to power them? Im thinking of getting like 2 10's or something like that. I know nothing about audio if you couldnt tell.

yep you need an amp. honestly to do anything after market besides some door and rear deck speakers you need an amp. Personally I need another amp cause one of my two fried! I've got two 12" Power Acoustic 1800 watt 1100 RMS and at this point only 100 wats pusshing both! But soon sony will be replacing the other amp for me! HA HA gotta love the 4 yr plans!

 

start with a good hu. stock is garbage then upgrade ur front stage depending on what u get u might need a amp for them. rear deck just leave alone its pointless. and then ur subs ull need a amp to power them. 99 i wouldnt send 1100rms to them or (2200) unless they have a 4 year warrenty cause they want make it.

 

yup, ive already upgraded the HU and the front speakers. I wasnt planning to replace the rear ones, just getting a little more thump when that bass hits.

the only way you can pound is with a amp. depends on what kind of subs your getting for wattage #s
