Ok, I am ready to pull the trigger, and yank the Shaker 500 from my 06 Saleen. I am really caught up between these two units. Please help me make up my mind by providing some good, and bad points about each if possible. I thought this was going to be east! Thanks in advance...

 

Pioneer.

Period.

 

AVIC-Z2. IDK if you can find a Z3 yet. Regardless, you can just upgrade a Z2 to a Z3 when the Z3 comes out. Pioneer always releases update disks.

 

Eclispe

 

Couldn't go wrong with both.

If it were me and my money I would go Eclipse. I don't think the Z3 is out, heres one of the Z2.

Higher volt pre-outs, the security, EQ are the main things I seen over the Pioneer the Eclipse has.

 

eclipse owns pioneer. 5 volt preout, and it does everything that the pioneer avic-d3 does, without having to swap discs. the pioneer unit is a little cheaper, so if price is a concern, there ya go. i was dead-set on a d3 for quite some time, until the avn6620 caught my eye. the d3 will also be replaced before the end of 08 according to posts i read on avic411.com

 

Thats why I got the Eclispe pre voltage. Nothing against Pioneer had them before but good price and could not pass it up.

 

Well, I ended up going with the Kenwood DNX8120 (due out any day now). After reading all of the hype on this Head unit, I could not avoid it. Anyone else order one?
