Connecting a 4 channel AMP
Besides seight, I wouldn't listen to any of the other posters to date.
I own and have used an HA740 to do the exact same thing you are doing. It is what the amp was designed for given the crossover options and the amps inputs and construction...
As seight said, use a low pass of 90 on the sub and turn the bass boost all the way off. Bass boost adds distortion and will make your chances of blowing a sub more likely.
On the comps, use the high pass at around 80 hzwith your speakers. (I am running a similar high pass on my CL-51A's) Also, make sure to turn the treble boost all the way off as well.
Profile amps are bare none the best bang for the buck amp. You pickedup a solid amp and it is a great place to start in car audio.
Your setup looks superb for an entry level setup!!!

I don't understand why some people feel the need to offer advice on things that they clearly have no good grasp of. If i don't know about something, or I'm not sure, I don't post. Period.
ninetysixyenko:
There is absolutely no problem with running speakers and subs from the same amp. The channels are completely separated. It's very common to use channels 1&2 to run speakers and to bridge 3&4 for a single subwoofer output. This has no effect whatsoever on sound quality, and it's a real time/space/money saver.

Well, trying to see this from your point of view, It looks bad only if you let your wires show...
I always hide my wires, so the only thing you see is the amp(s), and maybe one inch of wire before it hides away, so you really wouldn't be able to see how many / where the wires are going...
Some people won't and some people will go for looks, and even then, a single 5 channel amp encased in fiberglass in the middle of two subs, and two components looks pretty nice IMHO....

i still think 2 amps would look better(and perform better). and i know i go for looks, not custom, but deffently looks. same way when im shopping for equipment, a badass looking sub will win me over if the specs are similar. like i love the looks of the newer memphis amps. and i love the looks of L7s. etc. i hate the looks of Memphis subs and kicker amps though.
Yep a 26" long sled sized amplifier is pretty stupid looking...

At least with Hiss it's (very) easy to tell when he's being sarcastic...
Besides... Don't diss the sled. We all know what's in your trunk:

no, it can't do any harm, but IMO, it looks bad. even using a 5 or 3 channel amp, just looks bad IMO.

Please provide some proof that 2 amps performs better then 1. This is a forum where subjective opinions apply to sound quality and appearence, not the output of amplifiers.
I can find two amps that will outperform the HA1040, but I can also find an amp that will outperform 2 amps that will outperfrom an HA1040.
I want to see some of your logic or is that what the guys at best buy told you...
