200 - 800 watt rms amp? ha ha ha what kind of recommendation is that man?
so he will want an amp between 400 - 1600 peak???
Its like going into a showroom and sayin it is between a v6 mustang and ford GT...

You are making it hard on people that actually understand how electronics work...
Wow!! you guys are bigger *** holes than I thought. the subs are rated 50 watts to 200 watts RMSwith a 400 watt peak. he has four of them, thus you get 200-800 watt RMSsafe zone with a max of 1600 watts. If you run your subs at 1600 watts they will burn. Anyone who has been in an electronics class should know this.

why in the hell would you run subs stereo?

I think he wants a stereo setup instead of a mono so he can have a left and right chanel.

personaly I wouldn't go with a stereo set up eather because loud bass sounds from all directions anyways. I figured the thread starter wanted them in stereo since that is how he seid they are hoked up now.

um. youre an idiot. and its not electronics, its physics.

in case you havnt seen the stereos in cars now days they have seperated the the components into a tweeter and a sub. they leve the subs in stereo to get that full 360 degree sound. that is why left/right and front/back are seperated at the head unit.granted it wont be as loud or perfect sounding, it will retain the 360 degree sound.

Actually its not a sub and a tweeter it is a midrange/woofer and a tweeter. No subwoofer plays frequencies to 2500hz. A midrange plays much moreof the frenquency range and should be in stereo. Also, low frequencies are considered omnidirection, thatis whyyou do not see twosubs in stereo in 99.999% of stereo installs.
Also in stereo sound you do not want 360 degree sound you want directional sound from the right and left channels hense the word stereo. The sound should however fill the volume of the room/car, but youdo not want to hear both speakers at 360 degress becuaseit defeats the purpose of stereo. For 360 degree sound you require some sort of multi channel sound staging with a lot more then just 2 speakers.
Once again, you are making this harder on everyone. Please give up.
no theyre seperated into tweeter and woofers. you do not have "subs" with tweeters. and In fact i have seen these stereos in cars today. i have a pretty nice one just in case you were wondering. my components are about as top of the line as you can get before you get into extreme competition comps.
the woofers give the "360 degree" sound and subwoofers are always from a single, usu. behind, direction. i have never seen a subwoofer setup for stereo because the frequencies are going to fill the car anyways. almost always the subs are run mono or on a bridged amp because you dont have the applicable effect of "moving" bass. in a concert there will be multiple guitars from different parts of the stage, so we invented stereo sound to give us a more concert like feel. the bass only comes from one guitar. in one place. it does not move so there is no need for movement of sound between speakers. same with a kick drum. its coming from one location, so it needs only one channel because there no necessary "movement" between speakers.
