dual 2 ohm if you bridge the amp and run it at 4, (or 4 ohm svc)

or a dual 4 ohm if you want to run it at 2. (or 2 ohm svc) off of one channel. dont get a dual 4 or single 2 ohm vc if youre going to bridge it. it doesnt look to be compatible with bridging down to 2 ohms...

now just pick the brand you want with those configurations...

you will want a sub that has an RMS of 500 watts at 4ohms or 250 watts at 8 ohms. the brand is up to you because people will argue all day about them. post some links to subs you like and think might work and we will tell you if it is a good match.

^^^^yes. If it were up to me I would get a 500 watt8ohm duel voice coil. run the coils parallel so its at 4ohms total.

Yup, these are the important numbers, and should be taken as the gospel to anyone shopping at BBY/CC/or walmart. This will be my favorite stupid post until I start to rate a few more... Don't worry, I am sure you will score more then a few, it is still early in the contest.

your subs dont care as to the wattage coming to them in the ohm load they only care how much power and how clean the signal is. 500 watts is 500 watts whether its wired at 16 ohms or 1 ohm as long as the amp can produce the 500 watts at the impedance that your subs are wired to.

meaning that a 4 ohm DVC thats rated at 600 watts RMS can handle 600 watts at 2 ohms or at 8 ohms. you just need a pretty powerful amp to get 600 watts at 8 ohms.
