need sub and amp advice (2002 vert)
I would recommend 1 kicker 10" sub in a truck box and any amp at 500 rms. I have 2 of them with a 1000 watt amp and it is insanely loud. My rearview mirror fell off. about half of mine would be great for a loud kick without overpowering. Should be somewhere around 800. Mine was 2000 for the subs amp and wiring.
brandon wouldnt be a very good idea since a mono will be a class d and a 2 channel will be an a/b class <<<< 2 very different things.. not saying u cant run an a/b class to you subs (cause i do) but mine wasbuilt to be an a/b class sub amp but 99.9% arent made for that purpose anymore. And i have no prob with u putting in ur 2 cents so dont get huffy when i give mine. Mainstream hmmmm well if a company spends millions of $$$ a year pushing there name then yes people will buy it thats just how people think if i see it enough then it must be the best and ur just one of the millions who got caught so dont take it as a dis its just the truth.
Kicker/ JL Audio are over price and over hyped.
They are straight garbage for the bang for the buck.
If you own either of these brands then give yourself a pat on the back.
You just got raped, and hard.
Alpine subwoofers are a complete joke, the joke is owning them, I don't even have to state a reason of why they are garbage.
SQL is also a false advertisement.
There is only SQ and SPL don't let people try to trick you with sql.

I've listened to a lot of different subs, and I much prefer JL over the others - but that's *my* preference. For $800, you can get a JL 10w3 or a 10w6, in a box, and get an Alpine amp, say the M500, plus all the wiring to hook it up. Just make sure your amp can efficiently push your sub(s).
In my daily driver, I put a 10w1 in a box (it's a reg. cab truck, so I didn't need much), an Alpine MRP-F250 4ch. amplifier, Pioneer 6000 HU, and Pioneer door speakers. Total cost: around $850.

Now go hop in your tonka truck and let the big boys continue dishing out cold hard facts.

Sell you this bad boy for $200 plus shipping....

you'll have TONS of cash left over, tons of space in the trunk, have great SQ and SPL. At least it gave what i thought was a fair amount of SPL off my NINe.1......

Hisss is all about facts, not opinions. As he said.
What you can "prove" with saying you like, he can prove with numbers. Alot easier for you to say what you want than for mathematics to not equal out.
Not trying to be a jackleg, just explaining how he rolls.

Regardless, insults are NOT necessary. And car audio is a VERY subjective subject anyway - two people can listen to the same setup and one could like it, the other hate it.
