removing stock cd playerrr WTF!
ive been trying to take out my stock radio and cd player and its been driving me insane. I went out and bought those special "Ford Keys" that you slide in the sides and squeeze a little, then the cd and radio are just supposed to slide out...NOT HAPPENING. any suggestions? i could just take it to a professional, but this is such an easy looking thing i cant do its drivin me insane.
You just slide the pins in and pull it straight out. I'd try it a couple more times and if you cant get it then i'd take it to a proffessional... You should go to a car audio place and just tell them that your selling ur old deck to get a new one and ask them if they can take it out so you can buy a new one from them and get it installed from them too! Its so easy for them to take it out. That way they'll take it out for you and you can do the rest!

There are a coulpe of things you can try first. Push the keys in until they are about 70% in and they click. Don't push any further than that. Now pull the keys to the side causing the part of the keys that are in the radio to be pushed in. This grips the radio. Now wiggle the keys up and down while slowly pulling them out. This should get any stuck radio from ford out.
If this doesn't work there is a possibility that your locking mechanism on the sides of the radio are bent to where the keys won't grab. Only solution for that is tear the dash apart to get to the sides of the radio or tear the face off the radio and work from the inside out.
I usually tear the radio apart because taking the dash apart takes too long...can't have the next customer complaining.
Good luck.
ok thanks guys...yeah it must be something with the radio and cd player...cause when i go to pull it out, only one side will come out at a time and its almost like it gets stuck...just going to tear apart the radio.
aight this is wat u can do get sum red bull and speed. then rip ur sleeves off get swool on the deck and tear the piece out it works but i wouldnt recommend it. jus play with it for a while and it should come out......
