First my find,

WOW

That is all I can say....

WOW

Last summer I had a problem with the mid on my driver's side door in my dd. Whenever it was hot, my mid would stop playing and go in and out. I messed with the wiring and for some reason it would play fine if I removed the Y splitter I had used to bridge my diamond D5 600.4. For some reason last week, it started again for the first time in over a year. I pulled the door panel off and then looked everything over a thought. It looked like the aluminum side of my sound deadening could be shorting the speaker connections so I wrapped the connection in electrical tape and tried it. Sure enough for the last two years in hot weather, that crappy edead lost some of it's stickyness would make contact with my terminals. Having recently given my Y splitters to a friend, I picked some up and put them in today and lowered my gains a tad.

With all 300 watts going to each of my CDT HD-62cf comp set the sound is pure sexiness. I have so much midbass now, I can't hear my sub until I turn the remote gain up to half way. I can't believe I've gone almost 2 years with it sounding good, but not amazing.

Now my idea,

I'm gathering my leftover audio equipment for my mustang and so far I have the following.

HU - Eclipse CD3000

Comps - CDTS50A Pro

Sub - 2 Re 8's, or a single visonik 10, or a single JL 12W0

Highs Amp - Profile HA740

Sub Amp -Fultron Depth ChargeDC-400 (2 channel amp)

The Fultron is pretty rough looking so I was thinking I would repaint it black.

I was also thinking I might trace out the sketch of the pony emblem and then paint that in silver on the amp. What do you think of the painting idea???

you could do better on the subs choices.....but if I had to pick from those id do 2 RE8s in a ported enclosure

I am contemplating running 8s in my ride for weight savings.....If weight wasent an issue id run some 12" FI"Q"sor Diamond D9s

8's ported tend to be pretty muddy on really low notes with out the enclosure to help keep in straight. I am really happy with my 8's in the sealed enclosure although a single 12 would be good as well.

sounds like the E-dead may be delaminating in the heat. I have heard that can be an issue with it after a few years but never used it to know.

long story to help, bear with me - I am almost finished with my trunk lid cover where I masked off MUSTANG GT to match the rear bumper. I used a piece of plexi and painted the back of it to match the exterior, then removed the letters and put some mirrored window tint benind the lettersto reflect. I originally had 3" letters that were 2x the size of the bumper letters but when I compaired them to the bumper they looked to big. I took them back and exchaned them for 2" letters and used them but now it actually looks too small(just can't win).... I am considering etching a pony logo on either side of to fill the space as it looks too empty. My brother works as a graphic artist at a sign company(he made the MOMstang overlay on my myspace page) so I am going to have him make up a couple of those pony logos out of some scrap material when he as some time, let me know if you or anyone else wants some and I can have him make as many as we need. I am always amazed whatnew coat of paint will do. You might want to sand down the scratches a little.
