Multiple components good or bad?
Right now I am looking at using Diamond Hex series 6.5's where the factory 8" subs are, then using a 4" and tweeter where the 6x8's are. Is it good or bad to add something like a Q form kick panel with another component set up front? And if it helps does it make much of a difference? TIA
funny how much diamond audio is on here now, not a bad thing by any means just intersting....
People often have problems balencing the speakers they have let alone to add a couple more. It is not necessarily a bad thing to have more, just makes it more difficult...

As for having the Diamond Audio stuff, I've always liked having things that were different from the norm, and around here nobody has ever even heard of Diamond, DD, ED, etc. Plus being good quality stuff is nice also! I have a couple of Xtant 302A amps, would these be a good choice to run the Hex's with? And your comment about the balancing makes it kind of sound as if it is really not worth it I guess...

Diamond Audio Hex is a GREAT product as far as adding kickpanels I have had them in my old 96Probe GT and to be honest I didnt like them. They didnt do that much as far as sound plus it blocked where I rested my foot most of the time and it costs more money for the kick panels, speakers and another amp. So IMO id say dont get them.
Im not realy sure on the xtant amp question no where where I live has carried them in about 8 years I know they used to be good but I cant honestly tell you how good they are now. But great choice of speakers!

the idea of kick panels is not necessarily to be used with the stock door locations, and certainly not to be more comfortable for you the driver. The idea between kick panels is to minimize the difference between the speakers and your ears. The drivers side speaker is moved 8-12 inces away from the drivers ear, while the passenger side is not moved much in relation to the drivers ear. Doing this makes the distance from each speaker to your ears closer to the same so there is less difference in time and phasing issues. If they are done right they will not block your feet much, but they will still be there so the passenger will hear issues while the driver is shifting and his foot is in the way. But agian, if you were to sit in my passenger seat while I was not driving and listen you would see that the speakers will seem to dissappear and the sound is clean and clear.
