If im building a dual subwoofer sealed enclosure, does each sub have to be sealed off to its own box? thanks

Yeah it would be better if it was. The high quality boxes are like that so I would say yes. And if one ever blows then the other would still sound fine in that box

depends on the box design, some are made to share airspace but if you are just building a sealed box it is perferable to seal each one individually. Now my box with my 4 - 8s is sealed into 2 sealed enclosures because the shape of the box would have made it difficult to make 4 spaces with the same airspace in each.

If you can get the internal enclosure split close to perfect, yes.

If your carpentry skills are a little weak, No.

Scott you know better then that. You are one of the apples of my eyes on mustangforums.

Sure you could have sealed it into 4 enclsoures, but on a complex box design as your own for the 8's the work required to determine where to place every baffle would far outweigh any benefits from separating the woofers.

I've run 2 8's in the same enclosure multiple times out of laziness and had great results.

I just wanted Matt to know that it isn't the biggest deal if you can't, but it is better to do so.
