sub wont go on
i installed a sub and amp about a month ago. i let my GF use my car yesterday and today when i drove it the sub wasn't working. i talked to her and she said she didn't do anything. all the other speakers work fine and to my knowledge there isn't anyway to turn off the sub with the deck. all the fuses are fine and power is getting to the amp. all the wirers look fine. originaly i thought it was the power control wire but that seems to be fine. any ideas? it is a bazooka amp and an older kicker 12in.
if the amp is turning on but the sub wont work, you need to check your RCA's and the remote wire. also, check to make sure your speaker wire running from the amp to the sub didnt get disconnected.
you might have a bad sub. If you are getting power to the sub its not going to be your remote turn on, Possibilities are a disconnected coil inside your sub, or no input going to the amp. I would start by getting a friends sub and plugging it into your amp and see if that works.
I had a few subs just crap out and blow the saudered on connectors to the terminal posts, and they just sat there doing nothing.

which deck do you have?
try an mp3 player with a headphone to rca connector plugged into the rca's on the amp. Turn the deck/amp on and then see if it will play the mp3 source to see if your deck is sending an output, or if your rca's could be bad.
I personally would hold your girl responsible and make her take care of it, or at least take care of you. Hey and now that I am helping...........................

i know this may not be the problem
but,
my friend had a problem with is subs the other day
he even went so far as taking it to besy buy and they couldn't find it
while we were there, we looked at the amp, and it turned out, the eq thing was sent to flat
he flipped it back to the other side and it turned right on
just an idea

You took it to worst lie to fix it? man that is desperate and you are just setting yourself up for failure there. They couldn't finger it out? REEEEaly???
Again I would get that cable and do my test real quick. It should not cost more then $10 and will tell you immediatly if the problem is the deck/rca's or if it is the amp.
It is possible to turn off the sub output on some decks, I am not familiar with yours. Have you checked to see if the rcas are still plugged into the deck?
