Default amplifier placement

I was wondering what options I have for placing amplifiers in an 05 Mustang. I'd like to avoid putting them in the trunk. Is there any room under the rear seats? I want to put JL Audio 300/4 and 500/1. In my 01, I screwed them to seatbacks, but I think that is tacky. Any advice??

BTW.. my Mustang is on order. If I had it, I would disassemble the rear seats to see myself but I figured somebody out there has already done this...

I am thinking that is my only choice. Not a bad choice, but I was trying to maintain some trunk space. Placing the amps on the seatbacks will push the sub box about 4 inches to the back. I was hoping there is a magic spot....

my tuner for my touch screen was quite large so i took the passanger seat out and mounted it under there, its very stealthy....but the amp might be alittle too big but try it anyway.

It depends on how big the amp is. If its small enough then mount it under the passenger seat. If not then you can always mount it on the box (side, back, top) etc. I have mine in a custom box I made on the side, kinda where the fenderwell is, so that its flush and it saved a lot of room. Ill take some pics of it tonite so you can see what im talkin about...

I would like to see how you did that (custom box in fenderwell). I am thinking about a combination of 2 reply's in this post. I can possibly put the smaller amp under passenger seat and the larger one in a custom mount in the trunk. Thanks!!

I'd think an amp stuck under a rear seat would start overheating pretty quickly...

how big is the sub box? just tack it on the back of there. then that way when you need room for travel it all comes out as one unit.

yea, the rear seat idea is probably out...

as for the sub enclosure, it's a good idea, but disconnecting the amps to get the subs out would be a big deal. I don't think I want to be doing that. On the other hand, I am trying to come up with a config that keeps me from needing to pull the sub box out, so I'll see how much clearance there is around the outside of the enclosure.
