headunit cubby hole?
alright, ya know how stock headunit is like 2 units, the top cassette/radio and the bottom cd player. if i replace the top with a cd player/radio aftermarket one like alpine, clarion etc. can i replace the bottom with a small cubby hole type thing? i looked at the scosche website cuz i know they have pretty good cd player dash kits.
You can put in a cubby hole thing or they sell billet gauge holders on ebay, that hold 3 gauges. I am doing one or the other. I think it looks tacky when someone puts an aftermarket in and also leaves the factory tape player in there. I havent even owned tapes since like 95.
You don't have to "make" the cubbyhole part, you can buy mounting kits that have the cubbyhole there allready.
Or, you could stick an equalizer in that spot, or the gauges that were mentioned.\
Or,, you can buy an aftermarket deck that uses up both spots. They're called "double DIN" size and look pretty cool!
