Default System questions

I would like to get a system, I would like to retain the stock deck, I have the Shaker500....

I have no idea what i would be looking for, something that hits hard though, I was looking on Crutchfield and just dont know what to buy, Do I just buy subs? or "Component Subwoofers" that would fit in the rear deck?

any help would be great!!

Thanks

Lose the stock deck. It is impractical with upgrades.

What do You want from Your 'system?'

SPL or SQ?

What type of music do You listen to?

How much room can You afford to lose from the trunk?

How much money do You have to spend on EVERYTHING?

I agree that the first upgrade anyone should do for audio is to get rid of the factory radio. Even if it is the shaker 1,000,000 it still doesn't compare to aftermarket radio as far as equalization and output voltage. Then I would recommend that before you add any amps you upgrade the big 3 wiring under the hood to help prevent dimmed headlights and generally just enhance your electrical system.

the stock deck is the 1rst thing you should replace. It is little more then an audio brick that will lock up and take 6 of your favorite disks with it.

give us what hiss asked, budget normally dictates.
