Default Components are the way to go!

Its been about a year since I asked for opinions on what speakers to replace my base model front door speakers with, and a few of the regulars seemed to swear by component sets.

Well I went with the boston SL60 component set.

I've ran them up until now straight out of the cd player (pioneer dehp8400mp)

But recently I bought a cheaper sony xmzr604r amp, its a 600/4 amp @ 2 ohms, so the way I figure, it should be puttin 50-75 watts per side to the speakers. The amp made a ton of difference.. they really sound great.

As far as the rest of the system.. I have 2 8 inch Kicker solo barics in a ported box, and a Kicker KX600.1 amp powering them. It hit 136.4 db at a local stereo shop.. not crazy loud, but for 8's I think its decent.

I just want to say thanks to everyone that helped out!

Could not agree more. Here are mine. Hooked up the fronts with a JL Audio amp. Going to get the same speakers in the back, just not going to run them with an amp though.

Looks good but I was curiuos why you mounted the amps in plain sight? At least make a vented dummy cover or something. It just screams "Steal me!"

Those are the crossovers for the speakers.. I just thought they looked cool there.. The amp is mounted on the back of the rear seat

I actually bought a JL 300/4 amp from a pawn shop for 40 bucks.. it no work though[]

I would hide the crossovers in the glovebox.

Yeah I thought about hiding them. I came up with the idea before I got the speakers. I thought that the boston logo on the crossovers lit up, and I thought it would be a small kinda cool touch. They don't light up, and are a little bigger than I imagined, But I went ahead and went through with it. I kinda like the look..

One thing I am considering doing is covering the boston tweeters with mach grills, and replacing the "mach 460" logo with a boston emblem I'll take off the boston driver grills.

you will need a different door panel to get the mach grills to work. The top of it where it meets the grill/tweeter is different. I saw one person try to hack his panel to make it work and I would not recommend doing it.....
