Advice on Replacement for Shaker 500
Okay Guys, so I'm looking to upgrade the entire audio system and replace the Head Unit, Door Speakers, Door Subs, and Rear Decks. I am looking to replace with all Alpine equipment. The setup I was looking at is:
Headunit: Alpine IVAW505
Door Speakers and RearDeck Speakers: Alpine SPR-57C
* Powered by Alpine PDX4150 Amp
Door Subs [8"]: Not Sure because Alpine doesn't make a 8" Sub
* I'm thinking if I can't find a replacement that I can retain factory door subs powered by Shaker 500 Amp right? since the Shaker Amp only powers the subs anyway
Trunk Subs: Alpine Type-S SWS-1243D
* Powered by Alpine PDX2150 Amp
Also, I had a question about Audio Processors... Alpine offers 2 different processors the Alpine PXA-H701 and the Alpine PXA-H100 but I'm not sure which would be more beneficial to the above setup
Any Suggestions/Comments?

question: why alpine?
suggestion: leave the door subs, in fact, dont hook them up, friend of mine with trunk subs had the door subs blown in a week, they cant handle what your trunk can.
suggestion: only $100 more but has GPS http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...F90&tp=526

I just installed a JVC KW-AVX810 in my 07 Mustang. It is a nice head unit and will only run you about $500 on Ebay. You needto do a lot of shopping around before you pick a good head unit. I will say though, that the Alpine is supposed to be worth every penny. The IVA-W505 has the fastest IPOD interface and some other really cool features. I love my JVC, but it does have 1 drawback. Most of the music that I listen to is through my IPOD and the drawback is that the interface is a little slow. This isn't too much of a big deal due to the fact that I make playlists and let them run while I drive since most of my driving is on the expressway. Definately decide on which features you are looking for before you make a purchase because everyone is offering something different these days.
For door subs, the only thing that will currently replace the 8" shaker subs are the Pioneer TS-SW841D shallow mount subwoofers. The mounting depth is only 2.5". The problem with these is that they are gonna run you about $90 a piece on ebay (the cheapest that I have found.) I say that its not really worth the cost unless you have the cash to blow.
For the door speakers and rear deck, it all depends on your listening style. I prefer to even out my bass with my highs so I would recommend Pioneer speakers for this as well. They handle highs very well and will respond however you set them to with your EQ on your headunit. They also have nice lows.
If you want subs and an amp, that is your preference also. I recommend Pioneer subs. they hit real clean and they last LONG. But Alpine subs are nice as well. For an amp, I think that there is a lot to check out. I recommend Kenwood, Alpine, or HiFonics. Thats all I can say for now. Have fun shopping.

what about infinity's shallow mount 8"? i think it has a 4 1/2" mounting depth, but they aren't as expensive as the pioneers... exactly how much mounting room do we have in our doors?
As silverstang said go with pioneer unit it has gps and bluetooth. The audio controls are alot better and if you want a good processor go with the rockford 360.2 or 360.1(everything is controled through your phone with bluetooth).
Also like texotic said the infinty reference 8" is a very nice sub. Sounds great and cheap.
