Default Mach 460 bottom door speakers not working

I was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction. I have a 99' GT and the bottom door speakers are not working. They both stopped working at the same time. Has anybody had this happen to them? I did some reading and found out that there is an amp in the front under the cd player. I put my hand on it and it felt warm but im not sure that means anything because the rear amps feel cold, but the back speakers seem to work. I would appreciate anybodys help.

Thank you,
- 35thanniGT

If you've been playing your tunes for a while, especially loudly, then a cold amp is a DEAD amp. They should be warm to the touch. If both speakers crapped out at the same time then they are probably OK, check the input voltage to the rear cold amp & see if it's getting power.

You've done the usual fuse check by now?

Fuse Check has been checked. The cold amp is the two rear amps, do these amps control the front speakes?

Yea. Check this info: http://www.flemworld.com/Mach460/mach.html

It claims the front amp powers just the front tweeters, and the rear amps power both front & rear mids/woofers. You say BOTH rear amps aren't working now? You gotta really have the music cranked for about 10-15 minutes then you'll start feeling the heat off them.

Anyway, do some voltage checks around both rear amps. I don't know which one (left or right one) is responsible for the door speakers.

Thanks a lot for your help. I will check the voltage. I was looking on ebay and found rear amps for sale for around $20.00

Keep in touch maybe I can help you out with something one day.

Mike
