Ok so I know a decent amount about the performance side of a car, but I know nothing about the electronics/sound system of a car. I have a 02 gt convt and was lookin for ideas on a good system. amp subs everything. I dont want anything to crazy, just something that sounds good and hits decent. thanks for the help

hadnt really planned on doin any dorr panels. not yet at least. I was lookin at subs right now then move on to other ****. budget isn't really an issue. If I don't have enough right now I'll just save up for them

How much money do you have to spend?

SPL or SQ?

What all do you need?

Can You install anything yourself, or build your own box?

I'm thinkin i wanna start out with subs and a amp and then move on to upgrading my deck and other speakers. So what size and number of subs do you recomend? What brand? what type of amp? Money isnt really an issue. I'm not sure what price range I should be lookin at cuz i dont know how much decent **** costs or should cost, or where to get it cheap. If you were puttin a system in your car, nothin crazy, just a solid system, what subs would you put in with what amp?

Money not being an issue get two alpine type r 12's and get a ported box you will be happy. You will also need a 1000 watt RMS amp (rms is the important part if you dont already know) and youll need 4 gauge wiring. If you want to spend less or get a head unit too go with 2 kicker cvr's, the l7 series, the l5 series. You will soon discover that a convertible is a bad car for sound since the top wont reflect the sound. You also have to fit the box through the trunk making a sealed box the way to go, but the downside of that is that is wont hit very hard because your in a converitble. If I were you I would go ported with 2 12s so theyll hit with the top down. If you want some box demensions and the design to fit the ported 12s send my a pm.

I/B??? I think I'm gonna go with the alpine 12's, unless whatever i'b is is better.

Is it hard to make your own boxes? and if not would it be worth makin 2 different boxes?

If you want ported you have to build two boxes. If you want sealed then you could buy a mustang box on ebay for $50 which would sound good and be really easy. To build your own box you will need some power tools. It depends on what you listen to. If you like rap go ported, if you like rock go sealed. Ported will be louder though. I really like those alpine type r's, you wont be dissapointed.
