Default Stock Stereo + Subwoofer =???

Hi all,

New to the forums, so please help me out with this. I have a 300 watt amp and a 300 watt 10" subwoofer made by visonik (just to hold me over till i can install my 12"'s. Can you connect the RCA cables to the back of the unit as well as the wire to turn it on and off? I don't want to take out the head unit until i'm absolutley sure i can do it. If not, i can get a new head unit. I really don't want to 'cause i dont have a lot of money right now... but if you can please advice i would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

woops, let me put the pipe down and look again......

most people tap the signal at the back of the subwoofer enclosure. This is not a bad point until you want to replace the deck and then you will need to run rca's to the deck.

It's a stock 2000 Mustang System, not a mach stereo system. It has the HU with the tape/radio, and then the HU for the CD player below. It's a 2-peice set...

Anyone, advise on what to do to get my subwoofer working in my trunk, i have all the wires, just need some help wiring the factory unit to the subwoofer, since i don't think that my unit supports RCA cables for subs.

I don't want to go aftermarket 'till i can get some extra $$$...

then you did something wrong. What did or did not happen? Did the amp have power? Did you try a different audio source?
