Default amp/sub reommendations alpine type-r?

this is my first time every buying a soundsystem and i already have comps, a h/u, and a comp amp all on the reommendation from members of this forum. my only problem is that the subs recommended to me are no longer in production but were a really good price (they were two 10" elemental design 13kv.2D4 subs) the amp recommended to me for powering this was the cadence txa-3002 http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductC...;idproduct=382 because they no longer make the sub i am looking for a replacement...i havn't done much research, but i am thinking about getting a 12" alpine type-r , my question is can i use the same amp recommended to me earlier to power it? anyways i am also open to different sub/amp recommendations, anything would help at this point, also, i could find the alpine-r sub and cadence amp online for about 200$ totalbut i am willing to spend about 50-100$ more. ifsomeone could finda good/cheap amp i may alsoopt for two 10" or 12" type-r's......i really don't knowwhat i am talking about lol

the type r is definately a good speaker. but i have two kicker cvr 12's. powerd by an 800 watt true power kicker amp, power acoustic capacitor, and a pioneer dvd head unit.(cd player) and it sounded really good. i had those in an sn-95 model. the only problem is that i had to pull the back seat apart to get the box in the trunk.

thanks for the recommendation, i decided to buy a pair of 2008Kicker cvr 10" that i found on ebay for 160dollars total, it seemed like a good deal for 80ea. now all i need is an amp to power them.....while i understand matching up the rms and wattage, i am confused about the difference between a monoblock/4,2, etc channels so if anyone can recommended me other types of amps to look at that are around 200 or so (or that i could find online for that much) would be great, also what is a capacitor? is it nessicary?

edit: here is the link so you can help match up specs to help me find an amp
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=350083637124

would this amp http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductC...;idproduct=382be able to provide adiquate power for both subs i just bought?
help please!

Ok, you need a mono amp to run those subs. That is a 2 channel amp. You can use it to run a pair of subs...hence the X2 ratings. I get kinda confused about ohms and such with subs. I dont knwo if its the same as door speakers, but I can run my two door speakers at 4 ohms on my 2 channel amp, but 4 door speakers on a 2 channel amp equals 2 ohms...So...dunno, confused. Either way, that amp would not power those enough to get it to the 80% power that is usually reccomended to drive a sub near max rms. 2 of those would be perfect...considering the 600watts x1 rating, that would put you right at 80%. Either that, or a double powerful amp...which get very expensive. If you want some good bass, I would justy try the one, it wont be too much, and you shouldnt be able to overdrive the speakers. If all else, later you can get another, and wire it up in tandem. You probably will never max drive a sub unless blurbing it at a competition for a split second. You need a much much bigger amp. A multi channel amp is for use with multiple door speakers. Some multi channel amps have a hookup for a sub...but its usually not nearly enough for any decent sub. A capacitor is basically like a real tiny mini battery, except its more of an on demand buffer for the battery. It makes it so that when you start hitting harder notes and louder notes, you will not notice the voltage drop on your other electronics. Headlights will dim, instrument gauges will dim, and things will start acting kinda funky sometimes. Depends on how good your battery and alternator are, and how hard you plan on driving those subs. Im not sure, but a small capacitor couldnt hurt.
