Default Mach 460 Head Unit Question

I have a problem with my Mach 460 Head Unit in my 2001 Mustang GT/Convertible. The unit works fine, but the display burnt out (ie. I can't see stations, etc). I want to replace the unit with another Head Unit, but I do not want to buy a new one. Does anybody know if a 2003 MAch 460 Unit will be compatible with my 2001 system.

Thanks,

Scott

it may or may not, they switched some wiring around 03. You can put any deck you want to in there, I show how on page 2 of my cardomain page. With the right deck and a little tweeking the 460 can sound much better.

Is it the double din indash 6-disc deck in the 01 and the same with the 03 your wanting to put in?

Yeah it should just be a plug a play from 01-04 the factory headuit was made by Visteon.

So I dont see why it wouldnt all the wiring is the same. 01 ford went to the double din radio in the mustangs. And changed the mach system(460) by just having just 2 amp that just run the 4 mid ranges and the factory headuit runs the 4 tweeters. Before the mach system ran with 3 amps: 2 amps for the 4 mid ranges and 1 amp for the 4 tweeters.
