Shaker 500 speakers upgrade help
I have a 2007 Mustang GT coupe with the Shaker 500 system. I want to improve the overall sound of the system. I have just purchased a pair of pioneer speakers 6x8 240w max. for both the front and back of my car. I also have two 10inch subwoofers max watts 600 (each). I have an adaptor to go from my stereo to and aftermarket amp. so here are my questions
1. Should I hook up an amp to power the 4 speakers and 2 subs, or just use an amp to power the subs?
2. If I hook up an amp would I need a 2 channel or 4 channel to power the 4 speakers and 2 subs?
3. What wire from my system can I splice into to attach the adaptor for an external amp?
4. How many wattage amp should I get if I power all 4 speakers and 2 subs?
5. How many wattage amp should I get if I just power the 2 subs?
6. Are there just the 1 speaker in each of my doors or is their a sub to?
7. If their are subs in my doors is it possible to replace them for better ones? Which ones are they?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I have 2 Pioneer 10 inch subs max watts 600 each, I have to build an enclosure for these. I have never messed with stereo systems before haha. I was thinking about changing the deck but I have sirius factory installed and If I were to change it I would want an LCD type deck to fit nicely in the factory hole. Then I would have to purchase a sirius tuner to work with that deck. Kinda outta my price range just right now lol.
Well I would buy 2 amps 4 ch. for the front and rear and an amp for the subs(2 ch. or mono depending on the ohm load of the subs).
1st reason is that if you just get a 4 ch. amp for all the speakers you will lose your fade control bc you are just using the 2 front channels for the 4 speakers. Check your amps manual to make sure it can run 2 ohm stereo or you may blow the amp if it cant run that.
2nd reason alot of your 4 ch. amps do not put out much power, bc your 4 speakers do not need 200 watts RMS to drive them. Most of you aftermarket speakers only need 50-100 watts of RMS to drive them. Unless you start looking at your top of the line speakers. So the subs maybe under powered depending on what there RMS wattage is.
3rd reason is that if your going to go aftermarket you are going to want the full capabitiy of that new deck your goin to buy(audio controls). If it has 3 sets of pre-amp outputs.
If you want to use just 1 amp then look at getting a 5 or 6 ch. amp(4 channels for the 4 speakers and the other channel or 2 for your subs.
Hooking it you if you are just adding subs the easy way is to tap on to the rear speaker wire with the LOC or pull the radio out and hook of the LOC on the rear speaker wire behind the radio(this is nice bc if you do an aftermarket deck down the road you will not have to rerun the RCAs to the back of the deck. Installing the LOC behind the radio). Doing a 4 ch. you can buy 2 LOC or just get a 4 ch. LOC. There easy to work with a 4 ch. LOC then having 2 LOC back there, but you will have to install it behind the radio doing a 4 ch. amp.

Sorry for the delayed response. I did what you said. I bought a 2 channel and a 4 channel amp. (both pioneers) I have the 2 channel running 1 pioneer sub so far in my trunk, and I am hooking up the 4 channel to the four Pioneer speakers I bought for the front and rear. I also went ahead and bought a new head unit. (Pioneer FH-P800BT) It's not the LCD I wanted But I think it looks pretty sweet and it has a few extras like blue tooth, I also bought a sirius tuner, and HD tuner. I've never tried the HD radio before but I figured id throw that in too since I was working on everything else.
Quick question, the sub in my trunk I really don't think it does to good inside my vehicle. I don't hear much in the cabin. Would it be smarter to purchase 2 8inch shallow mount subs and put them under the driver, and passenger seats?
Thanks Again,
