Default Popping sound

I recently replaced my Mach 460 deck with a Pioneer deck. If I do not turn the deck off when I turn the car off when I turn it on it pops real loud. I got the Mach 460 specific wiring harness but read that the stock deck had a resistor to stop this. Where and how would I put a resistor on my Pioneer to stop the pop?

Well I read the stickys and they gave me no info on the resistor for a Mach 460. So any info would be great or point me in the right direction.

1.5k ohms, wattage does not matter.

Ok what does that have to do with my speakers popping every time I turn the car on?

the factory amplifiers use a strange 6 volt turn on that nobody else uses. Your aftermarket radio has a 12v turn on so when it turns on it really makes the relay that controls the power slam on causing the pop. Using a resistor or a voltage regulator as instructed in the sticky will take the 12v down to the 6v where the factory amps will be happy.

at the top it explains the voltage regulator way, if you read further into it I beleive it explains the resistor method

I don't see anything about a resistor there (but, I do often miss a lot of things). I have the AVIC-D3 and have it wired with the voltage regulator. I want to swap the regulator out with a resistor because I am having some weird issues and I want to rule out the regulator as the problem.

Is it as simple as soldering a 1k resistor to the remote leads?
