Just picked up the car, 03 gt. Has the mach 460 in it and I was pretty much given a 12inch solobaric L5. I would like to install it, but the guy at the local car audio shop pointed out that there is not much room back there with the factory amps and there is not a box that will fit the sub and fit in the trunk. Is this true? Am I out of luck with the solobaric?

If I cant fit that back there I might sell it and get something else. What is a good setup that will give me some good bass and still fit. Also, I was looking into some of the kenwood head units with the usb port. Any negative side effects from going to after market head unit with the 460? The guy at the shop told me it would cost a little more to hook up because of some kit I had to buy but it would be fine. Just wanted to make sure.

 

I have a 07 convertible and I use 1 12" sub. The shop that installed the amps and speakers had about a dozen different size boxes. My box is 20" x 16" x 8" deep.

 

i dont know about the subs because i havent seen how much trunk space the newer stangs have. for the deck, there's nothing negative about upgrading it, you'll get better sound and it looks better. the kit the guy is talking about is probably a wiring harness and that should only be like $15 i believe. i have an 02 with the mach system and i just had to get a wiring harness for the mach system. im assuming you would need a wiring harness for the mach 460.
