Default Where's the best grounding position?

So far I have been looking for a good grounding position. I grounded a 4 awg at the front base of the locks where the 6x8 are at... its where I took off that plastic cover and some 9mm bolts was holding something down (I can't remember what is was, but it wasn't nothing plastic. It was metal on top of metal.) that's where I grounded the wire. I want to know is that a good ground or do I have to move it somewhere else? I don't have the Mach 1 audio system so I think everything is stock.

sand the paint off before you ground...
ground close to the wheels and no more than 2 feet from your amp

are you sure? close to the wheels? do you have any pics of that ground?

I looked at this to see where I could find a grounding spot like that on my stang and couldn't find it

BTW where is this located at? it looks like the solenoid switch for the trunk, but IDK that's just me guessing it doesn't look familiar to me

and whats up with the remote wire?

I grounded mine to a Nut holding the tail light housing to the body. Been working fine for me.

I have no idea why he recommended close to the wheels.... never heard that one.

That ground looks to be on teh trunk support on the drivers side. for the remote wire you will need to find a switched accesory, the factory amps use a 6v turn on that will not work with aftermarket amps.

I'll try my luck there!! thanks for the help... as far as the remote wire goes can I just buy a rocker-panel switch? I would just run the amp to that switch and then from the switch to the HU

I'll have to take a picture where I did wanted to ground it at the first time before I change it again...

you can add your own switch but I would still recomend connecting it to a switched accesory so that the amp will turn off with the key.

So you're saying just quick tap it to the yellow wire on the HU?

if you do that you will have to manually turn off your deck everytime it leaves as it will stay on with the key off. Nothing wrong with this as long as you turn it off....
