arent too expensive, well everything that is cheapish wont cost alot, but its basically crap IMO, JL Audio is expensiveish but they are high quality and last forever. As for amps, if you can find one of the older Phoenix Gold amps those are awesome, they arent expensive at all. Their new stuff is crap...thats what ive heard anyway

Well just stick with good brand name subs/speakers, Kicker,JL,Alpine, fosgate, and MTX is really good now too. They weren't that good in the past but they have been makin some good subs. The only thing with brands like fosgate and alpine is that they arent very powerful subs unless you get the expensive ones... I think kicker carries the best bang for the buck on subs, they have good prices and offer more power than most other brands money wise.....

Eclipse with their reference lines makes some great products that are not too expensive vs the "lesser" quality name brand stuff.

{puts on flame suit}Kicker--dont have an opinion lol
JL--expensiveish but definetly worth it, i know a guy that did the sound competition thing, he used JLs low end stuff and whooped everyone, he only had 3 of 'em
Alpine--cheap crap...very cheap crap
fosgate--crap, they blow out alot, never heard of anyone that hasnt blown them out.
MTX--dont hear much about them, from the sound of it they seem to be gettin better
PGs older amps are great though, if you find one that will work for your sub, BUY IT
