autodim/compass/temp mirror?
Anybody install one of these? I really, really miss my exterior temp reading--I mean, the F150 has it--and I'd like it on my Mustang. How much trouble? The Ford Acc catalog suggest dealer installation......
Thanks!
Thanks!
Never tryed it, but if the dealership could do it it cant be that hard. As long as it has installation intructions. Should be pretty easly. I believe that it just need power, gorund, and an illumation wires for it to work and the temp., and compass compents are just built into the mirror it self.
I put something similar in my ranger. The rangers and explorers of couse share the same interior parts and the explorers had a seperate dome light, compass, outside temp and sunglass holder. I had to cut part of the headliner out, drill some holes in the supports above it and the of course the wiring. I needed a constant, switched, ground and there were 2 wires that I used a 10K thermistor(thermal resistor as instructed on a ranger site) to tell the outside temp. I imagine the mirror would need the same wiring which is not too hard to do if you know how.
here you go. Hope that helps a little in the wiring.
