is my tape player fried?
i'm driving a 91 5.0 fox, all stock.
whenever I put a tape in, my speakers start to "click" bout once a second. makes listening to music on a tape impossible. this happens regardless of whether or not the tape has music on it, does the same thing when i put in a cleaning tape or my ipod converter tape w/o it even hooked up to the ipod. I don't have this problem when I listen to the radio.
don't know if its related but also every now and then the system "cuts out", no sound, but still on. it does this on the radio, not sure if it does it for tapes since i haven't had any in for more than 30 seconds.
any help is appreciated
please dont' just say get an upgraded head unit, if i gotta replace it, thats fine, but I'm sticking with a working version of the same thing, I like old stuff.
